Spinergy Now Offering HexaLock CD Copy Protection

Worried about the content on your discs being illegally copied or used? You don’t have to be, because Spinergy is now offering HexaLock CD Copy Protection services. This solution for intellectual property protection offers content owners new and highly effective options to address their digital asset management requirements. The way it works is that a unique set of elements are added to every HexaLock copy protected CD during the mastering process.  It is these unique set of elements that are used to unlock the protected software. If an unauthorized user tries to duplicate or play an illegal copy, the set of elements will not be found. Thus the protected software will not be unlocked and will not run. For more information about this new copy protection service feel free to contact us at (800) 333-1428.

Helpful DVD Definitions

With the explosion of the DVD industry upon us, there are numerous formats and a variety of terms being used for this type of media. Below is a quick overview of some of the terminology.

DVD VIDEO: For viewing movies and other visual entertainment. The total capacity is 17 Gbytes if two layers on both sides of the disk are utilized.

DVD-ROM: Its basic technology is the same as DVD Video, but it also includes computer-friendly file formats. It is used to store data. This product should supplant conventional CD-ROMs in the near future.

DVD-R: Its capacity is 4.7 Gbytes. Originally designed for professional authoring, a version for general consumer use is now being sold. As with CD-R, users can write only once to this disk. Panasonic, Toshiba, Apple Computer, Hitachi, NEC, Pioneer, Samsung and Sharp support this format.

DVD+R (Competing format of DVD-R): DVD+R discs can be only be written to once. Because of this, DVD+R discs are suited to applications such as nonvolatile data storage, audio, or video. Short for DVD+Recordable, a recordable DVD format similar to CD-R. A DVD+R can only record data once and then the data becomes permanent on the disc. The disc can not be recorded onto a second time. Philips, Sony, Hewlett-Packard, Dell, Ricoh, Yamaha and others support this format.

DVD+R: This usually refers to a hybrid drive that can play both DVD-R and DVD+R formats.

DVD-RAM: This makes DVD a virtual hard disk, with a random read-write access. Originally a 2.6-Gbyte drive, its capacity has increased to 4.7-Gbyte-per-side. It can be re-written more than 100,000 times.

DVD-RW: Similar to DVD-RAM except that its technology features a sequential read-write access more like a phonograph than a hard disk. Its read-write capacity is 4.7 Gbytes per side. It can be re-written up to about 1,000 times.

DVD AUDIO: The latest audio format more than doubles the fidelity of a standard CD. It is expected to become the most popular audio disk.

GOLF TIP: “11 Ball Drill” to Identify Weak Spots in Short Game

Take 11 balls to the short game practice area and use them to determine your strengths and weaknesses around the green. First, find one type of shot that you're good with; say, the pitch from a fluffy lie from five steps off the green. Hit all 11 balls from that situation. Once you've hit all 11 balls, remove the five shots that are closest to the hole. Six balls will remain. Finally, remove five shots that are farthest from the hole. One ball will remain. The remaining ball is your average (actually the mathematical median, but let's not digress - golf should be fun). Now go back and try the same pitch shot from a tight lie and see if your "average" is the same. Hit chip shots, pitch shots, lob shots, and bunker shots, all using the 11 Ball Drill to determine which shots are your strongest, and which are your weakest. In this way, you can identify the shots you need to work on, and thus determine where your time will be best spent in your short game practice.
